"On this TPL Media interview, Host Brian Isted sits down with Aaron Dale."
Aaron Dale is a constable with the Toronto Police Service and a Canadian Armed Forces veteran who co-founded the Military Veterans Wellness Program to better support veterans in crisis. Recognizing that many former service members struggle with mental health challenges, homelessness, addiction, and difficulties transitioning to civilian life—often leading to contact with law enforcement—Dale helped create specialized training that equips frontline officers to identify veterans, understand military culture, and respond with informed, empathetic care.
The program also builds direct referral pathways to trusted partners such as Veterans Affairs Canada, the Royal Canadian Legion, and Operational Stress Injury Social Support, ensuring veterans are connected quickly to mental health services, housing resources, and peer support. Through this initiative, Dale is helping reshape how police services across Canada engage with veterans—reinforcing the message that no veteran should face crisis alone.
